As Prosper continues to grow, attendance zones could change, meaning where your student goes to school based on where you buy your home, could change.

Zoning decisions are watched very closely by parents because it impacts where their students could end up going to school.

According to Prosper ISD, there are a few things to know about the process:

• Attendance zones for the 2022-2023 school year will be announced in the spring.

• While the district says they understand the value of ensuring elementary students go to the middle school they are currently zoned to, the amount of growth in the area, makes that a difficult thing to commit to. They note they are the fastest growing school district in Texas and are adding 2,000 students a year.

• Where growth actually occurs ends up really determining how zoning unfolds, the district says.

• The district ensures parents that they will not be re-zoned to McKinney’s ISD.
