February/March

April
Arts In Bloom takes place in Historic Downtown McKinney and features over 120 juried artists, and the Local Artist Village, all set up on the tree-lined streets surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
July
The City of McKinney celebrates the Fourth of July at Red, White and BOOM! with free family activities, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show.
On National Ice Cream Day there is no more refreshing to place than Chestnut Square in McKinney. You will enjoy family fun, food, entertainment, and plenty of delicious ice cream and other cold treats.
September
This dinosaur exhibit at Heard Museum always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar.

At this event you will find free candy and treats, a costume contest, games, food trucks and live music.

The annual Holiday Tour of Homes honor the women who started it and highlights some of McKinney’s most interesting and unique historical homes.Â
The annual McKinney Rotary Christmas Parade of Lights is an annual event for the McKinney Rotary Club, which uses the donations raised to fund local, regional, national and international projects.
