H-E-B plans to build two more stores in the DFW area, according to media reports.

The Dallas Morning News said the Texas grocery store chain will build stores in Forney and Melissa.

A few weeks ago, H-E-B broke ground on their McKinney store, which will be located on the northeast corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway. That store is expected to open in 2023.

They also plan on opening stores in Frisco and Plano this year.

The Morning News reported last week that H-E-B is planning to purchase more than 40 acres of land in Melissa and that they filed a rezoning request with the city. The Morning News said the store will be located near Bucee’s.

As for the Forney location, that one will be located near Highway 80 close to the city’s business district, the Morning News said. That store will be more than 120,000 square feet.

There is no timetable for the opening of either store.

H-E-B was recently named one of the best grocery stores in the country. Dunnhumby, a global consulting and technology services firm, has published a report on grocery store shoppers’ needs and rankings of their favorite retailers. And H-E-B was ranked No. 2 on that survey.
